ASU falls fast during final minutes against Bucs

Despite leading by one at halftime and nursing a 74-66 lead with seven minutes left to play, Appalachian State University men’s basketball lead against the East Tennessee State University Buccaneers evaporated in the final minutes of their 93-80 loss Saturday in George M. Holmes Convocation Center.

Consecutive road games, losses continue to wear on Mountaineers

Despite winning several important categories in its game against Elon University, Appalachian State University women’s basketball team failed to win the category that mattered most: the final score.

The 75-68 loss to Elon was the Mountaineer’s 13th straight road loss and pushes their record to 3-14 overall, 2-8 in conference play.
Appalachian and Elon went into halftime tied at 29, but Elon started the second half with a 16-6 run to go up by 10 points with 16 minutes left to play.

Appalachian State University Wrestling cruised to a 22-12 victory Friday night at Varsity Gymnasium against the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Mountaineer co-captain Lee Roper started things off right in the 165-pound match, pinning Scott Fisher 2:29 into his match. Roper dominated Fisher, scoring a quick takedown then going to work on getting a pin.
