Despite leading by one at halftime and nursing a 74-66 lead
with seven minutes left to play, Appalachian State University
men’s basketball lead against the East Tennessee State
University Buccaneers evaporated in the final minutes of
their 93-80 loss Saturday in George M. Holmes Convocation

to wear on Mountaineers |

Despite winning several important categories in its game
against Elon University, Appalachian State University women’s
basketball team failed to win the category that mattered
most: the final score.
The 75-68 loss to Elon was the Mountaineer’s 13th straight
road loss and pushes their record to 3-14 overall, 2-8 in
conference play.
Appalachian and Elon went into halftime tied at 29, but Elon
started the second half with a 16-6 run to go up by 10 points
with 16 minutes left to play. continued

Appalachian State University Wrestling cruised to a 22-12
victory Friday night at Varsity Gymnasium against the University
of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Mountaineer co-captain Lee Roper started things off right
in the 165-pound match, pinning Scott Fisher 2:29 into his
match. Roper dominated Fisher, scoring a quick takedown then
going to work on getting a pin.
