II don’t get it. For some odd reason, everyone seems to think I hate every movie I watch. Well, everyone seems to think I hate every movie I watch sans blood and explicit sex and/or violence.

This simply is not true! I liked “Matchstick Men,” and that only had one person die.

APPS student survey lends to more diverse acts

A survey conducted by two graduate students leads the Appalachian Popular Programming Society into a more concentrated effort to better serve students’ entertainment needs.

Appalachian State University grad students Anna Morgan and Wynn Shooter sent 2,000 students the survey through e-mail and received 488 responses.

Recital showcases scholars' achievement

Hayes School of Music showcases many of its excellent music scholars in today’s recital in the Rosen Concert hall at 8 p.m.

“This recital is an opportunity for these special young people to perform in a recital setting and it’s another way of recognizing their performance abilities, scholarship and achievement,” Assistant Dean of the Hayes School of Music Dr. Jay C. Jackson said Monday.

“The recital’s main purpose is for our endowers to hear us play and for us to showcase our talent to the school as well,” sophomore White Wind Scholar V. Thomas Padgett said Tuesday.
