Just four one-hundredths of a second separated Ernest Wiggins from the Men’s 100 meter finals at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships Thursday.

Wiggins finished 12th overall at the meet, held on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin.

His 10.24 seconds time put him fourth in the third and final heat. Tyson Gay of the University of Arkansas won not only Wiggins’ heat but also the finals with a stadium record time of 10.06 seconds.

Wiggins also finished behind Jonathon Brown of Western Kentucky University and Demi Omole of the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
