Our Perspective ... Good hire, but the team needs support

Congratulations to Chris Pollard, first of all.

Anytime a guy moves from a DII head coaching job to a DI gig is certainly remarkable.

However, it is certainaly less remarkable when it's Appalachian State University baseball.

ASU baseball has to be the black spot on ASU athletics. Almost every other sport is competitive in the Southern Conference, or at least shows promise at being competitive.

Under the reign of former head coach Troy Heustess, the Mountaineers never did that.

Ricky Williams is a punk.

Despite what Dan LeBatard (who has to be, along with Jay Mariotti, one of the most annoying men on the planet) of the Miami Herald would have you believe, Williams is not moving on to “bigger and better things.” He gave up the biggest and the best thing, professional football.

There are 100 million men in this country alone who would give anything to have Williams’ career.
