Schneeloch-Bingham graduated from Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in music and flute performance. She is now a flute instructor.
The music business is not an easy profession, yet Dr. Nancy Schneeloch-Bingham continues to be inspired by the musical life she leads. Schneeloch-Bingham, who will perform a faculty flute recital this weekend, has been the flute professor in the Hayes School of Music since 2000, and music has been a part of her life since the first note she heard as a child.
“Music has always been such a part of my life that I couldn’t envision life without it,” Schneeloch-Bingham said Friday.
Born in Long Island, New York, Schneeloch-Bingham began playing musical instruments in the third grade.
She originally started playing the violin, but her mother encouraged Schneeloch-Bingham to pick up the flute. She said she believes that it was partially due to the awful noise that the violin emitted while she was practicing.
