Hawaii loss shows positives and negatives for Mountaineers by Andy Morris

   Well, Appalachian didn’t beat Hawaii. I can’t say I’m surprised. Despite the absence of their starting quarterback, the Warriors still managed to blister our defense with second-stringer Jason Whieldon. But instead of focusing on the 40-17 score, let’s take a look at some positives for the Mountaineers.
    The most impressive performance by an Appalachian player came from K.T. Stovall, a senior defensive end and a preseason All-American selection. Stovall made an impact on several plays and put constant pressure on Whieldon. Even the Fox Sports announcer, terrible as he was, complimented Stovall, saying “he’s got a motor that doesn’t quit.” After leading the team in sacks last year with 10, expect Stovall to wreak even more havoc on opposing quarterbacks.
