Our Perspective ...Off-campus students must fight for rights
   We will never forget what happened two years ago today.
    Our country came to a standstill that day, and the grief carried on long afterward.
    In the months immediately following we mourned the lost and paid homage to the brave. Since then, we have declared war on terror.
On the one-year anniversary, we held candlelight vigils and commemorated the tragedy in a day of remembrance.
    Now here we are. Two years later.

Mother-daughter relationships can be hard
   I hope I am not the only one.
    I have discovered the eighth wonder of the world: The relationship between mothers and daughters. Such a wonder has been pondered and picked apart for many years, but I think I am at a landmark.
    My mom has always been a major influence in my life, an inspiration, a savior, whatever you prefer. My freshman year I called her and she counseled, she sent up cookies, slipped me the infamous ten-dollar-bill, welcomed me when I came home and still told me things like, “Clean your room, pick up after yourself, you never listen.”

Club sports are a fun, rewarding experience
  When I first came to Appalachian State University, I wanted to make sure I was involved with extra-curricular activities so I began to do some searching.
    I attended club expo the fall semester of my freshmen year and was shocked to see so many different clubs present.
    I immediately made my way to the club sports section and gathered as much information as possible on the clubs I was interested in.
