Swim team continues to build on past seasons
success
With interest in ASUs club team
up, dedication and a positive attitude drive the Mountaineers

This year, the Appalachian State University club swim
team wants to maintain the interest carried over from last season.
Were looking forward to building a strong team of both
men and women and maintaining the interest carried over from last
season, senior team president Ashley Hawks said. Hawks returns
for her fourth season.
This year we had around fifty freshmen sign up at club expo,
which is a lot compared to previous years, Hawks said. Were
really excited and looking forward to the upcoming season.
Last year the Mountaineers had a successful season, competing in
five meets. At Radford University, the womens team finished
seventh out of 13 teams, ahead of six varsity teams.

East Tennessee State University received an extended withdrawal
from the Southern Conference by the Council of Presidents last Tuesday.
The extended withdrawal will allow ETSU to remain a member of the
SoCon until June 30, 2005 while the school seeks membership in a
new conference.
Director of Athletics Roachel Laney said that ETSU will join the
Atlantic Sun Conference. .

mens soccer club hopes to continue building a strong team.
After their second season being reinstated as
a club, the mens soccer team wants the commitment from the
players to carry into the future.
