To kill a Moc: ASU football dominates

Only 8,753 fans attended Appalachian State University’s game against the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on Saturday, but those who came saw a record-setting individual performance and Appalachian’s most dominant win in recent memory.

“We were as concerned and worried about Chattanooga as any team we’ve played,” ASU head coach Jerry Moore said after his team’s 47-7 blowout. “I think this shows a lot about the heart of this team, because there is no one in the league playing harder than UTC. I had no idea how we would react today after the loss last week (at Wofford College).”

Old and new combined on Senior Day to lead Appalachian State University past East Tennessee State University 2-0 in women’s soccer action Sunday at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

Senior midfielder Renee Stetkevich led off the scoring with a corner kick at the 28:29 mark of the first half. She floated the ball in from 35 yards out and is her third of the season.
