ASU clashed two times during last Saturday’s
match-up at Elon's Homecoming. Coaches and players
expect Elon to be ASU’s next rival, and tension
began early in the game. |
Appalachian State University easily handled Elon University
on Saturday, but their biggest victory wasn’t on the
field.
More importantly for ASU, both Furman University and The
Citadel lost in conference games later that day. Furman’s
loss gives them three conference losses and The Citadel’s
loss gives them five total losses.
It also eliminates both teams from the playoffs and puts
ASU in sole possession of second place in the SoCon and in
charge of their own playoff destiny. continued
