Tragedy in the Appalachian Family
At Appalachian we often refer to the student body as a family.
Last Thursday night, in a horrific crime, we lost a member of that family.
Joseph W. McClure, a senior recreation management major, was found dead from a gunshot wound by the side of a gravel road.

Stewart more than 'Crossfire' monkey
I have to applaud Jon Stewart for saying on live television a few things that many of us have always wanted to address.
Yes, it’s true. Tucker Carlson really does look ridiculous wearing those bow ties.
In case you missed the main event, Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” recently appeared on CNN’s “Crossfire” to have a friendly chat with lefty Paul Begala and right-winger Tucker Carlson.

Outback Kates cooks up something delicious
Pulling together a group of my closest friends to have dinner can be somewhat of a challenge. They each have their completely opposite food likes and dislikes. It becomes a chore when choosing a restaurant to satisfy all.
This time I decided to check out Outback Kate’s, which has something for everyone. They have managed to bring good ol’ southern cooking up to Boone.
