Flu shot shortage hits Watauga

With flu season just around the corner, the local community is feeling the impact of a national flu vaccine shortage.

In Watauga County 1,500 to 1,600 people with “high-risk” medical conditions are on a waiting list for the flu vaccine, Watauga County Health Department Nursing Supervisor Debbie F. Garrett said.
