Black Eyed Peas get it started in Convocation Center

Let’s get it started in here!

The Black Eyed Peas will play in the Holmes Convocation Center on Friday Nov. 12 at 8 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Black Eyed Peas has accepted an offer from the Appalachian Popular Programming Society (APPS) and contracts will be signed in a few weeks, APPS Program Coordinator Randy M. Kelly said.

'Appalachian Showcase' to be aired

“An Appalachian Showcase” will perform for students, faculty and the community on Sept. 24. The event will be taped by UNC–TV for a future broadcast on North Carolina’s public television network.

UNC-TV heard some performances of students at a university event last year. Students provided music and after that event they were impressed enough to ask them if they could come to campus and do a special on the student performers, Hayes School of Music Dean Dr. William G. Harbinson said.
