Stadium to stay on campus Chancellor Kenneth E. Peacock announced yesterday that Kidd Brewer Stadium would remain oncampus and the building, along with Owens Field House, will undergo renovations, according to a university press release. Committee forms to find new athletics director Appalachian State University announced its starting lineup on the director of athletic search committee Monday. The committee is made up of 13 individuals from the greater campus community. Peacock fills administrative vacancies Chancellor Kenneth E. Peacock and Provost Stanley R. Aeschleman made several appointments last week to fill administration vacancies at Appalachian State University. ASU, WSSU partner for advancement An exchange agreement was signed Jan. 31 between Appalachian State University and Winston-Salem State University, which will allow preparation between the universities for future academic and artistic collaborations. The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Taskforce was created toward the end of the spring semester in 2002 and has been active on the Appalachian State University campus ever since. Art Expo opens exhibitioning to students The annual Art Expo will start Feb. 28 and invites any current Appalachian State University student to attend and display their artwork. Art Expo is a “student-juried exhibition” that provides an opportunity for students to post any piece of original artwork for a variety of awards, Director of Catherine J. Smith Gallery Jody Servon said. “Whether or not you are an art student, you can attend.” |
