Capitol rally sees small crowd, large message

Members of the Association of Student Governments, along with approximately 20 participants, met outside the General Assembly building in Raleigh Thursday to voice concerns over proposed university budget cuts.

The proposed budget cuts would equal approximately $107 million and could cost the University of North Carolina school system 900 jobs for faculty and staff, according to the ASG Web site.

The Association of Student Governments elected Zachary A. Wynne as its 2005-06 president Saturday. Wynne will transfer to Appalachian State University in the fall.
