The Appalachian put together the most comprehensive survey in its history to find out what Appalachian State University really thought about the textbook rental system.
A survey that polled approximately 1,073 people showed that Appalachian wants to keep the rental system currently in place.

Textbook rentals should go
Appalachian State University’s long-standing textbook rental system could be seeing its final days. Why are students looking at this as a bad thing?
Having a textbook rental system has greatly depreciated the value of our college education for too long, and I am glad to see a brighter future ahead.

Textbook rentals should stay
I don’t think there is a more well-known cliche than the poor college student.
I have been very pleased that, although still thinking like a university, Appalachian State University has strived to compensate for its students’ economic status.
With the recent textbook rental system controversy though, I am losing faith.
