Makhyoun should point finger at self

Student Government Association President Miriam N. Makhyoun recently expressed disappointment with the SGA presidential elections.

“This election was about name recognition, not ideal recognition,” Makhyoun told The Appalachian.

The Appalachian agrees with this in part. We were disappointed by the lack of vigor and actual debate on student issues that took place in the recent elections.

However, Makhyoun should look at her own administration if she wants to find the real reason behind the low quality of the elections.

Mary's Kitchen's cozy feel worth a try

I don’t miss much about my pre-college life. I do, however, miss a warm and tasty home cooked breakfast.

Since I have been on my own, I usually just grab a quick granola bar or banana and scarf it down as I run to the AppalCART stop.

Mary’s Kitchen, a somewhat hidden entity in Boone, is the perfect substitute for those delicious breakfasts made flawlessly by mom.
