Apartment Rental Fair Date Changed

After postponing the Apartment Rental Fair, Student Government Association rescheduled the event.

The new date is Wednesday, Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. outside Cascades in the Plemmons Student Union.

The information sessions will be in the Calloway Peak Room.  The sessions begin at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.
 

Visiting Writers Series Announced

The Visiting Writers Series schedule for 1998 has been announced.

All readings will be in the Plemmons Student Union.  Sales and signings will take place afterwards.

All events are free to the public.

On Feb. 16, poet and novelist Robert Morgan will discuss his works at 7:30 p.m. in the Linville Falls Room.

Feb. 19 at 7 p.m., poet Juanita Tobin will make a presentation in the new Watauga County Library meeting room with a reception following.

Poet Saleem Peeradina will speak in the Calloway Peak Room  March 11 at 7 p.m.  After the presentation, a Student Film Showcase will be shown at 8 p.m. in the Roan Mountain Room.

Scholarship Applicants Needed

Scholarships of up to $1,000 will be awarded to children of university staff.

All applications must be received by April 15.

The scholarships will be awarded by the Appalachian State University Staff Council.

Academic performance and financial need are the primary consideration.  The number of scholarships awarded will depend on the amount of funds generated.

Reich Scholar Awards

Applications for the Reich Scholar Awards for undergraduate and graduate students in teacher education are available.

Undergraduate sophomores who are full-time students and have declared a major or program of study in the Reich College of Education and who have been admitted to the fall 1998 teacher education program are eligible.

Full-time graduate students who have enrolled in a master’s degree program of the Reich College of Education are eligible.
