State Department Internships

Interested students have the opportunity to work as interns for several government departments, including the United States Department of State in Washington, D.C., or American Embassies and consulates worldwide.

The application deadline for spring 1999 internships is July 1.

Information packets regarding these internships can be picked up in the International Programs resource room at 237 I.G. Greer Hall.

Graduate/Senior Job Opportunity

The Department of Housing and Residence Life is seeking a graduate student or a senior to assist with the supervision of 10 to 12 student desk assistants for the 1998-99 school year.

Steely Pan Steel Band Concert

It is not your usual kind of concert, but the Steely Pan Steel Band is not your usual kind of band.
The fun begins May 6 at 8 p.m. in Farthing Auditorium. Tickets are $4 for students and $6 for the general public.

Watauga Community Band Performance

The Watauga Community Band, directed by Dr. Charles Isley, will perform May 3 at 3 p.m. in the Rosen Concert Hall.

The concert is dedicated to Deborah G. Bell, a founding member of the band, who died in March.

Appalachian Chorale and WHS Honors Chorus

The Appalachian Chorale and the Watauga High School Honors Chorus will present a free concert May 5 at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall.

The chorale is directed by Brian Bailey. Sondra Edwards directs the honors chorus.
