Delta Zeta donates money to centennial campaign
Special to The Appalachian

Lambda Phi Chapter of Delta Zeta Sorority at Appalachian State University has donated $6,500 to ASU’s Centennial Campaign.  The money is the most donated by any organization on campus.

Sisters of Delta Zeta, along with charter members and alumni announced their donation while celebrating their 25th anniversary on December 5, 1998 at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center. The chapter gave their gift of $6,500 to the ASU Comprehensive Clinic.  Director of the clinic Dr. Jane Lieberman along with Ms. Ruth Sizer accepted the donation.

The sorority raises money for their philanthropic endeavors primarily by working each semester in the University Bookstore and donating their earned wages in full.

Delta Zeta’s national philanthropy is for the speech and hearing impaired, as they donate money to Gualladet University in Washington, D.C.

The sisters challenge each organization on campus to  contribute to the university’s campaign by donating to an area of special interest on campus.
