Though
the weather outside was almost frightful, the atmosphere inside Legends
on Friday night was one of summertime!
Approximately 350 people attended the second annual Winter Wonderland
Gala to dance to the music of Chairmen of the Board.
Dave Robertson, director of student programs, said he hopes this Winter
Wonderland Gala will become a tradition from now on. “All traditions shouldn’t
come from the 50s,” he said.
A lot of students took advantage of the meal deal that the Red Onion
Cafe, China House III and Dan’l Boone Inn offered. “We saw a lot of customers
going to the event ... we were busy with reservations,” said Red Onion
Cafe owner Danny Mauney. “We did feel the effect and saw an increase in
business.”
For those who were unable to attend the gala after it was postponed
from Jan. 29 to last Friday, a refund will be available beginning Thursday,
Robertson said. To get a refund, come to the student information desk in
Plemmons Student Union with a whole ticket. A check process will be used
to refund the money, said Robertson.
The gala was co-sponsored by APPS, the Student Government Association,
the Appalachian Student Ambassadors and the Campus Resident Student Association. |
