ESPN lovers around the country will turn on their televisions Saturday and see another great game known for its incredible rivalry.
No, it won’t be Duke and Chapel Hill. It won’t be Indiana and Michigan.
It will be Appalachian State University and Davidson College.
The two best teams in the Southern Conference North Division are going head to head in Varsity Gymnasium Saturday, Feb. 19 at 2 p.m.
“(This game) has become one of the better rivalries in this part of the country,” said Sports Information Director Bill Dyer.
ESPN2 will invade the Appalachian campus Friday afternoon to be in town for the practices, Dyer said.
“We feature a lot of different conferences and different games throughout the year ... we wanted to feature the Southern Conference,” said ESPN Manager of Communications Josh Krulewitz. This game is part of ESPN2’s 300 game schedule.
Chris Marlowe and Bob Wenzel will be the talent for the game, Krulewitz said.
The game will be aired at 12 noon on Saturday, Feb. 19 in Varsity Gymnasium.
