November 16, 1999| Concerned students speak out about important issues
Cyerra Crumrine Police Beat Do you know what the number one crime on campus is? How about the number one crime in Boone? Do you have a bone to pick about something happening on campus that you would like to talk to the police about? If so, here is your chance. The Campus Crime Awareness Committee is having its third meeting of the year on Wednesday. This committee consists of officers from the University Police Department, the Boone Police Department and Appalachian State University students. The committee is currently forming to develop a better partnership between ASU students and the area police departments. In these meetings, students talk about issues important to them such as skateboarding on campus, alcohol laws around town or vandalism on campus. This is your time to find out about what crime is really occurring on campus and what you can do to protect yourself from it. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. in Whitener Hall in Room 112. All interested and concerned students are welcome to attend. |
