Student Publications Staff

David Freeman
Advisor

Freeman is the Director of Student Publications, in the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership, at Appalachian State University. He is also a department of communication adjunct instructor. He currently teaches Introduction to Journalism and Introduction to Mass Communication. He has been the advisor of Student Publications since 1991. Freeman advises The Appalachian newspaper, The Rhododendron yearbook and several other publiations, including the ASU telephone directory and other CSIL collateral.

Freeman received his B.A. in international relations from UNC Asheville, and his M.S. in mass communication from Arkansas State University. He is a native of Marion, N.C., and has worked on newspapers and magazines in North Carolina, Illinois and West Virginia.
