As 2007 gets in full swing, position changes have already taken effect for many departments at Appalachian State University.
Tracey L. Wright was the director of multicultural student development
but was moved to assistant vice chancellor for student development, Dr.
Jim L. Street, associate director for the Center of Student Involvement
and Leadership, said.
It was the university’s decision to make the move in order to increase her scope and ability.
Tina R. Parlier, former administrative assistant in the CSIL office, moved to the registrar’s office, Street said.
Kindsay Greene was the assistant alumni director but after almost four
years in that position, accepted a position with the American Cancer
Society, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Alumni Affairs Tracey C. Ford
said.
The office is currently searching for her replacement.
“The position entails working with alumni, planning events such as the
Black and Gold Reunion and the Homecoming committee and also working
with volunteers across the state and country,” Ford said.
One final position change occurred in the Office of University Advancement.
Vice Chancellor for University Advancement Jerry L. Hutchens will be retiring after three years in the position.
Responsibilities for the position include raising private funds for the
university, managing funds for the various campus activities and
helping with cultural aspects of the university such as the Turchin
Center.
Hutchens plans to enjoy his retirement by “showing up to tailgate at football and basketball games.”
Applications to fill the position are due by Jan. 31, and they hope to
have the position filled in a matter of months, Hutchens said.
