Goodbye for now Boone Saloon, Taco Tuesday
The Appalachian would like to express its sadness and condolences to the owner, staff and patrons of Boone Saloon.
Given the already minimal choices for nightlife in Boone, the loss of another establishment is truly unfortunate.
One of the few locations in town to offer quality live music and a great setup for their bands, it was always a pleasure to see a show at Boone Saloon.
And since only those age 21 and up were allowed in, patrons could count on a night free of the
freshman riff raff.
However, none of that even begins to cover the distress over the loss of Taco Tuesday.
The favored location for the midweek party crowd, Boone Saloon offered a laid back atmosphere, wide
variety of beer options and reasonably priced tacos to go with it.
That being said, where to now?
Where will those itching for a Tuesday night top-off go?
The Appalachian urges another bar in town to step up.
Flipside, throw out your pizzas - bring on the tacos.
Klondike, trade your Sperry’s for sombreros for one night only.
Macado’s?
Murphy’s?
Cafe Portofino?
Who will take this on?
Both another establishment and the Boone community could benefit from the implementation of a new
Taco Tuesday headquarters.
Our only recommendation to make a new Taco Tuesday that much better?
A drink special reminiscent of Thursdays at Flipside.
Nothing compares to getting 4 Pabst Blue Ribbon’s for $3.
The Appalachian wants to offer its sincere regret to the stakeholders in Boone Saloon and wish the
establishment a speedy recovery.
Boone will miss the venue for its superior live music, relaxed ambiance and convenient location.
The Appalachian staff, along with the rest of the student body, now awaits the determination of a new
Tuesday night location.
Until then, it looks like it’s the library – the real one.
