Retraction to April 29 cell phone story Print E-mail
Wednesday, 30 April 2008
In the April 29 edition of The Appalachian, a story was published concerning a new North Carolina state law involving safety and cell phone policies.

After further review and research, we discovered this law was fabricated and based off a circulating false e-mail.

North Carolina has not passed a law mandating cell phone use within a motor vehicle, and has no current plans of implementing such a law on July 1, 2008.

The Appalachian strives to be a source of accurate, in-depth and unbiased news, and we apologize for any misleading information.
