SGA President welcomes students to campus Print E-mail
Thursday, 28 August 2008

Dear fellow students,

Welcome home to Appalachian!

It is our sincere hope that you had a relaxing summer, and are ready to return to Boone to pursue another great year on the mountain.  Welcome back to returning students, and a special welcome to the Class of 2012 and our new transfer students.

We know that after just a couple of days here, you will see why students hate to leave Boone - even for a short period of time - and why alumni long to return.

It is the Student Government Association’s honor to represent our fellow students to the administration.  Every undergraduate student is a member of the Student Government Association, and we want you to maximize your membership in our organization.

From suggesting ideas for change on campus to simply stopping by our offices on the second floor of the Plemmons Student Union to ask us what is going on at the university, we are here for you!  This year, Student Government is making a concerted effort to reach out to all students in several ways from attending club meetings to simply being more visible on campus.

We look forward to getting to know you and your hopes and dreams for Appalachian.

If you are so inclined, we encourage you to consider joining the student senate.

With Appalachian joy and pride,

David Mofford
Student Body President

Kendra M. Johnson
Student Body Vice President
