Author overlooks 2 U.S. senate terms

The writer of Sept. 9 Obama Commentary states that Obama has no experience outside of community reforms and state government.

In reality, Barack Obama has been a member of the United States Senate since 2004.

Two whole terms in Congress have been completely overlooked by this writer, and I feel that it was unfair for this opinion piece to even be published because it excluded this information and did not even appear to be what one could consider an “educated opinion.”

Darwin series might not explore both views

In a recent article promoting the Darwin Bicentennial Celebration Series, Howie Neufeld, the chair of the organizing committee, stated one of the topics the lecture series will discuss is the differences between evolutionary science and intelligent design.

The differences will likely be discussed, but only from the pro-evolution/anti-[Intelligent Design] viewpoint since no one from the intelligent design community is allowed to speak.

Debate was suggested in planning meetings but quickly dismissed by Dr. Neufeld.

On a positive note, Dr. Neufeld did approve showing the movie “Expelled:  No Intelligence Allowed,” that highlights the suppression of ideas contrary to Darwinian dogma. Perhaps he has not yet seen the movie!

Author didn't overlook 2 U.S. senate terms

The author didn't overlook two terms - Senators are elected for six-year terms, and Obama is four years into his first term. That shouldn't disqualify him, but we have to talk about our preferred candidates with the truth!
