The round façade overlooking Sanford Mall houses a new addition to Appalachian State University.
The new University Bookstore, accessible from Sanford Mall or within
Plemmons Student Union, is comprised of six departments.
The Computer Shop, located on the second floor, carries many products for student computing needs.
The Computer Shop is an authorized Apple, Dell, Gateway and IBM dealer,
and offers special student discounts on computer and software packages.
The Computer Shop also offers printers, accessories and software.
Computer Shop staff can help students with computer purchasing
decisions. Many majors and concentrations have specific computing needs
toward which the bookstore staff cater.
The textbook department, located on the second floor, houses rental texts for the university.
Textbooks are organized by the courses to which the books are assigned.
Undergraduate students can pick up rental textbooks at the beginning of the semester, and return books to the same location.
The Scholars Bookshop, located on the first floor, carries many popular
titles and products available at other bookshops, including posters,
journals, fiction, greeting cards, study guides and gifts.
The Appalachian apparel department offers clothing and accessories bearing the ASU moniker.
Apparel fits every taste and size, and is located on the second floor.
Among the products offered are T-shirts, sweat shirts, jackets, polo
shirts, scarves and baseball caps.
Appalachian gifts are available on both the first and second floors.
These gifts include ASU watches, posters, Afghan throws, holiday items and posters.
Also available are diploma frames and distinctive gifts, such as cuff links, desk sets, paperweights and weather stations.
The regalia shop offers commencement caps and gowns for undergraduate
and graduate students, as well as graduation announcements and gifts.
With the completion of the renovations on the previous structure, the University Bookstore will double its size.
The new section will house a restaurant and coffeeshop.
