Last year was full of super heroes, adventurers, vampires, talking animals and at least one curious robot that will not be forgotten.

“’The Dark Knight’ was the best one because of all the press of Heath Ledger’s death, and people of all ages could enjoy it,” sophomore music industries major Ryan K. O’Connor said. “Like, little kids with batman and all that stuff and adults could enjoy it, too.”

While the year was full of some ups and downs in the box office, the top picks are unanimous with all the domestic reviewers and critics.

The top ten movies of 2008 are:

1. “Dark Knight”- $530.9 million

2. “Iron Man”- $318.3 million

3. “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”- $317.0 million

4. “Hancock”- $227.9 million

5. “WALL-E”- $223.8 million

6. “Kung Fu Panda”- $215.4 million

7. “Madagascar”- Escape 2 Africa- $174.9 million

8. “Twilight”- $167.3 million

9. “Quantum of Solace”- $164.3

10. “Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who!” $154.5
