The Disco Biscuits will perform at Legends Wednesday at 8 p.m., its fifth time in Boone since the creation of the band in 1995.
Each member went to the University of Pennsylvania, where they met in the residence halls and began playing at college parties.
Boone’s performance is one of many in the tour that will kick-off the release of “Planet Anthem,” their 11th album.
To prepare for their arrival, Appalachian Popular Programming
Society (APPS) has plastered posters, set up contact tables and made
announcements to classrooms.
Andy V. Dang, APPS concert chair and junior political science major, expects a sold-out show.
“Pre-sold tickets have been very, very steady and their fan base
has only expanded,” Dang said. “The buzz for the band has been booming.
The [Concert] Council has been doing so much promotion that it’s
impossible to find somebody who doesn’t know The Disco Biscuits are
coming.”
Student tickets are $18 in advance and $20 for guests and at the door.
They can be purchased at ticketreturn.com/prod2/team.asp and at Plemmons Student Union Information Desk.
Drew W. Granchelli, the band’s publicist, was a fan before he started working.
“There are four individuals who are vitally necessary to what
the band does: the performers,” Granchelli said. “They’re totally
unique. One thing’s for sure, they sound like The Disco Biscuits.”
