More flops than props to throw around this week, but as the vast landscape of the NFL continues to shake itself out, that’s to be expected.

Not half-bad last week, lets keep it going.

Overall record to this point, 48-25

Last Week: 10-4

This week’s fantasy steal: Sammy Morris, RB, New England Patriots

With the Patriots’ star back Fred Taylor on the shelf, Morris now takes over the lead role he departed.

All of New England’s backs have been healthy until recently and that contributed to an ever revolving carousel in the Patriots’ backfield, a system which frustrated potential fantasy owners in the first few weeks of the season.

Morris has distinguished himself in the past two games and suddenly pulled away from untrustworthy Laurence Maroney and newcomer Kevin Faulk, he should have enough carries over the next few games to make him a viable RB2 option.

On to the picks.

Houston > (H)Cincinnati

Flops- The Texans continue to inch their way towards becoming a playoff quality team, but if they keep falling an inch short, they’ll quickly find themselves on the outside looking in once again this year. With that talent on this team, that just should not happen.

(H)Green Bay > Detroit

Props- Detroit should be an example for the St. Louis’ and Oaklands’ out there that want to duplicate their 0-16 mark from last season.

(H)Jacksonville > St. Louis

Flops- Jacksonville needs to find consistency, the Rams are a good start, but there’s little that can make up for that embarrassing goose-egg handed them by the Seahawks.

Baltimore > (H)Minnesota

Flops- Minnesota has had their way with most opponents this season, but there are still issues with this team that have yet to work themselves out, namely those surrounding it’s two biggest stars. Those involve durability and fumble-itis, you can match the terms with the players yourself.

(H)New Orleans > New York Giants

Props- The Giants have proven themselves one of the most complete teams in the league. Well, so have the Saints, and put against one another, I’ll give the edge to the Saints and their run game. Ya, their run game.

(H)Pittsburgh > Cleveland

Flops-The Steelers thought they had found the run game they had lacked in second-year back Rashard Mendenhall, then they nearly get beat by the Lions, you do the math.

Carolina > (H)Tampa Bay

Flops- Despite earning the win against Washington, Carolina all but deserved the loss. The Panthers have an easy set of games upcoming, maybe they find their 12-4 swagger in one of them.

Kansas City > (H)Washington

Flops- Washington. What? That’s it.

Philadelphia > (H)Oakland

Flops- See what Eli Manning did against the Raiders on one leg, and in only one half? Well next up, Donovan McNabb.

Arizona > (H)Seattle

Flops- Seattle is in the same boat as the Jaguars they managed to utterly dismantle a week ago. Consistency is key to championships, not just a big game or two.

(H)New England > Tennessee

Flops- Anyone seen Tom Brady lately? Well, Tennessee’s secondary is as good a rebound as any.

(H)New York Jets > Buffalo

Flops- The Jets defense was supposed to be their staple, without it, the playoffs could become a dim hope where once they were all but a certainty. Perhaps a date with the Bills will help them get their mojo back.

Chicago > (H)Atlanta

Props- It would be unfair to call Atlanta’s 45-10 thrashing of San Francisco a fluke. But once the 49ers get down early, they simply lack the offensive weapons to pull back. Chicago however, does not have that problem.

(H)San Diego > Denver

Props- Give credit to Denver’s game-plan, but ball-control and good defense can only do so much against a high-powered passing offense, much like the one Phillip Rivers runs in San Diego.
