Arson/Intentional Burning

On Thursday, July 5th, 2007, at approximately 5:20 a.m. the Appalachian State University Police Department received a report about a small fire on the loading dock behind the University Bookstore.

Appalachian State University Police along with Boone Fire Department responded and found cardboard boxes had been removed from the crusher and set on fire. The fire was extinguished and there were no injuries reported. There are no suspects at this time.


 
Sexual Battery

It has been reported to the Appalachian State University Police Department that on Tuesday, July 3, at approximately 11:00 a.m., a female student was assaulted in Trivette Hall by an unknown black male.

The male grabbed the female’s arm, waist and buttocks as she was walking out of the building.  The male is described as being a small black male, medium skin tone, wearing an orange Polo shirt and blue jeans.


If you wish to remain anonymous, call Watauga County Crime Stoppers at 262-4555.  If your information leads to arrest, you may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.00.
