Appalachian students arrested for marijuana, mushroom possession |

Boone Police charged three Appalachian State University students with various drug charges April 1. Junior management major Brandon J. Tice, 25, was charged with felonious possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.
Sophomore studio art major Daniel S. Desmarais, 24, was charged with felonious possession with intent to sell and deliver psilocybin mushrooms and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Junior accounting major Justin H. Livesey, 22, was charged with felonious manufacturing marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Capt.
William Greene of Boone Police said they received a tip regarding
paraphernalia in plain sight at 307 Wood Circle, leading to a search
warrant. Greene said additional people may be charged, pending an
ongoing investigation.
All three students were placed on $5,000 bonds. Their court date is scheduled for May in Watauga County District Court.
